BRAS — our bras are the most sensitive of our garments. We recommend hand washing if possible. The next best thing is washing cold on a delicate cycle inside a mesh delicates bag. Always hang dry out of direct sunlight.

UNDERWEAR — we recommend hand washing pansy undies. Second best is putting them in the washing machine on a cold delicate cycle. Hang dry out of direct sunlight!

CLOTHING — we wash all of our pansy clothes in the washing machine on a cold delicate cycle. Hang drying is best but we occasionally put our clothes in the dryer when needed.

SOCKS — we wash in the machine on a cold delicate cycle and hang dry. Some people like to put them in the dryer to help them retain their original shape.

HOW TO HAND WASH — place all your worn bras and undies in a clean sink (you can also use your tub, a clean bucket or pot) and begin to fill with warm water. Add soap either from a bar that you lather in the water or drops from a liquid soap. Continue filling up the sink until it covers the clothing and begin mixing the clothes around with the soapy water until it gets all of the clothes sudsy then turn the water off. Leave the clothes to soak for 20 minutes or so and then drain the sink. If there are any stains or smelly parts this is a good time to try to scrub those areas perhaps with some extra soap. Run water over the items and try to rinse out all the soap from the garments. Fill the sink back up with water (no soap) and let the garments soak another few minutes before gently squeezing the water out and hanging dry.

HOW TO MACHINE WASH — for most clothing and especially pansy items we recommend washing on a delicate cycle with cold water using a natural detergent. Wash with other delicate items (never jeans or towels). When you wash clothes in a machine all of the items are being rubbed against each other a lot and agitated! For bras and other items with loose straps we recommend investing in a delicates bag (a mesh bag) that you can protect your items within the wash from being caught and stretched.

HOW TO HANG DRY — invest in an indoor drying rack if you have the space or turn your whole house into a drying rack. Put them on doorknobs, chairs and cribs. Clothing you can hang on hangers in windows or door frames. Wherever you can find a spare spot!

SOAP — we recommend natural detergents always! Unscented is best for the environment and our skin. We encourage using biodegradable soaps that are less harsh on the earth, your garments and our bodies. If you are hand washing, we love unscented Dr. Bronner’s soap (bars or liquid). Great for washing undies in the sink at home or on vacation. You can use to wash your body, your dishes and anything else you need washed. We love a multipurpose soap. Sphaera Laundry Bar is also a great zero waste product that is specifically made for hand washing garments!

HANG DRY VS SUN DRY — full sun is nice for our undyed natural clothes and undies but for all our bras and dyed clothing we recommend drying out of direct sunlight. Full sun is helpful if you are trying bleach out any stains in your natural clothing but the UV rays can degrade the natural rubber elastic on your bras and fade the color in your dyed clothing over time.

NO DRYERS — why no dryers? Dryers are super convenient but they are hard on our clothes and use up extra energy. The added heat and movement degrades your garments more quickly. The heat from the dryer degrades the rubber in our elastic. We prefer to hang dry our garments instead! Hang drying is a nice passive way to dry your clothing. But dryers will work in a pinch just really try to avoid using them on your bras! FYI - everything we make is pre-shrunk in the dye process.

MENDING — we recommend mending your bras and clothes when they are worn out and need a replenishment! We are working on another page with all of our mending tips! Coming soon!
